The Forbes Billionaires List has long been the hallmark of who's who in the world's elite.
But Bloomberg is hedging in on the market with the creation of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which is basically a real-time version of the Forbes list.
Forbes is firing back to the new competition with the release of its annual list.
While the upper echelon remains the same on both lists, major differences start to emerge as the list go on.
#10 Karl Albrecht
Forbes says Albrecht ranks #10 with $25.4 billion. Last year he ranked #12 with $25.5 billion.
He was not ranked on the Bloomberg list.
Albrecht is a self-made man through his work with supermarket conglomerate Aldi Sud. The chain boasts at least 4,500 stores.
#9 Li Ka-shing
Forbes says ranks #9 with $25.5 billion. Last year he ranked #11 with $26 billion.
Bloomberg says Ka-shing ranks #12 with $25.8 billion.

#8 Stefan Persson
Forbes says ranks #8 with $26 billion. Last year he ranked #13 with $24.5 billion.
Bloomberg says ranks #15 with $24.5 billion.
Persson chairs budget retailer H&M. Late last year, the company released a wallet-friendly line of clothing designed by Versace.
